A Consideration that may change things

Several people noted in the comments to the post on the date for holding EschaCon II that there is a jazz festival on Labor Day weekend in Chicago. That may turn out to be something we can't work around. Vicki and I have discussed moving EschaConII further into September or to early October. We don't want to get into weather problems so we can't push it too far into the fall.

Vicki is looking into the situation and also checking on room rates in Chicago. We will be setting up another Poor Atriots Fund here.

In the meantime, let us know if moving the date forward will knock a significant number of you out of being able to attend. Try not to immediately assume that you can't attend unless we hold it on Labor Day weekend. It's impossible, of course, to accommodate everyone, but we want to be able to accommodate as many as we can.

We'll let you know just as soon as we can whether or not it looks as though we are going to have to move EschaCon to another weekend. And to those of you who are anxious about things and want them to move faster, all I can say is that Vicki has a lot of experience in events planning and I am relying on her. She has assured me that we still have plenty of time. We are working on an agenda, as well. Suggestions are always welcome.

A couple of things

First of all, this blog wouldn't be here without Vicki. She has been wonderful. She is the heart of Eschaton, as far as I'm concerned.

Now as for timing: I've noticed that we seem to be moving toward Labor Day weekend again. That's fine with me. I am going to be out of the country for the first 10 days in June, so early summer will not work for me. But I want as many Eschatonians who want to come to EshcaCon II to be able to, so start telling us when you want it to be held, and we can go from there.

EschaCon 2006 in Chicago, IL! But When?

EschaCon 2006 will be held in Chicago, Illinois. But when? Today is January 31st, and for the next month, we are asking for your input as to the best date for the conference! Spring? Summer? Fall? Winter? When?

Let us know when you consider to be a good time for the conference, and we'll start scheduling based on the popular vote! No electoral college for the moonbats!

Consensus Rules, so have at it!

Love,

Tena and Vicki!
